Day with the Wakefields Click here to return to the Sutphen Family Home Page Bob and Susan Wakefield visited Southern California in late February. Bob was in training with NCR in Rancho Bernardo while Susan scoped out the scene. On their last full day in town, Denise and Tom picked them up and went to Imperial Beach, San Diego to check out Joe (Larry) Rathburn at the pier. We had great fish and chips, but were disappointed to hear the restaurant owner lost his license to serve beer. Denise got up for a few tunes and was great as usual. Joe played a lot of his own tunes and was really great too! Following the performance, we swung up to La Jolla and had a nice evening, including dinner at George's. We ate outside on a rooftop patio, overlooking the Pacific. It was really cool! We finished up at the La Jolla cove park before dropping Bob and Susan back in Rancho Bernardo and calling it a night.
